What is Confirmation?
Confirmation, one of the three Sacraments of Initiation into the Church, together with Baptism and Eucharist, completes the grace of Baptism by an extraordinary outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which seal or “confirm” the baptized in union with Christ and equip them for active participation in the worship and apostolic life of the Church.
Confirmation preparation is a two-year process beginning in 9th grade. Students will take two years of preparation and be confirmed at the end of the second year of formation.
What do I have to do to be Confirmed?
Confirmation sessions are on two Wednesday evenings per month, two days of reflections during Advent and Lent, and one Weekend Retreat. A component of Confirmation preparation requires a total of 30 hours of service, ten at home, and 20 in the Church or the broader community.
