Pastoral Message

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,How deeply our Lord loves us. From the very beginning of His public ministry, Jesus walked among us not as a distant teacher, but as the Good Shepherd who knows His sheep by name and lays down His life for them. On the Cross, He offered the perfect sacrifice—once for all—pouring out His Blood so that we might be reconciled to the Father and drawn into the very life of God. That same sacrifice is made present for us at every Mass, where the altar becomes Calvary and the Host becomes the living Body of Christ, given for the life of the world.It was from that same Cross that the Church was born. When the soldier’s lance opened the side of Jesus, blood and water flowed forth—signs of the sacraments that would nourish and cleanse His people. And before He returned to the Father, He entrusted His fledgling flock to Peter and the Apostles, saying, “You are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church” (Matthew 16:18). He did not leave us orphans. He established a visible, hierarchical, and sacramental Church so that His presence, His teaching, and His saving grace would remain with us until the end of time.This is why we gather Sunday after Sunday in this parish: not merely as a community of friends, but as the living Body of Christ, united to our Head through the Sacrifice of the Mass and the teaching authority He Himself established. Every time we receive Holy Communion, every time we confess our sins, every time we listen to the Word proclaimed and explained by those who stand in the line of the Apostles, we are touched by the same Christ who died and rose for us, and who continues to shepherd His Church through the successors of Peter and the bishops in union with him.Let us never take this gift for granted. Let us approach the altar with grateful hearts, love one another with the same charity Christ showed us, and support one another in living as true members of His Body. In a world that so often forgets the cost of our redemption and the beauty of the Church He founded, may we be living witnesses of both—humble, joyful, and steadfast.Know that you are held in my prayers each day. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus, wounded for love of us, fill your homes with peace, and may Our Lady, Mother of the Church, keep you close to her Son.In the love of Christ,

St. Vianney Legacy

John Baptist Vianney was born at Dardilly, France on May 8, 1786 into a very humble and Christian family. His mother being a very religious woman led him, at a very early age, to a life of profound devotion to God which consumed him completely. He was quoted as saying “I owe a debt to my mother. Virtue goes easily from mothers into the hearts of their children, who willingly do what they see being done.”

St. John Vianney wanted to become a priest, however being raised during the French Revolution and its aftermath made learning, especially Latin grammar, almost inaccessible. Without a proper education, St. John Vianney struggled through his years in the seminary. He was ordained a priest on August 13, 1815 primarily through his strong reputation for goodness and holiness. The vicar general was quoted as saying “The Church wants not only learned priests but, even more, holy ones.”
