The one God is three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost. EachPerson is fully God, yet there are not three gods but one God, one divine nature, equal inglory and co-eternal in majesty. The Father is unbegotten, the Son is eternally begotten ofthe Father, and the Holy Ghost proceeds from the Father and the Son.

This is the central mystery of our faith, one we could never have discovered by reasonalone. Jesus revealed it when He commanded the Apostles to baptize “in the name of theFather, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” Every Sign of the Cross is a smallprofession of the Trinity. The deepest truth about God is that He is a communion of love, and that He has made us to share in that life forever.
